How a Bitcoin eSIM works
The profile is a standard GSMA eSIM from a licensed carrier partner — T-Mobile, EE, SoftBank and the rest — not a voucher for someone else's app. You pick a destination and a data size, pay a Bitcoin invoice, and we email the QR code, activation code and a device-specific setup guide once the payment confirms.
Install over Wi-Fi at home (or on airport Wi-Fi if you bought late). Validity usually starts on first network attach, not on purchase, so you can land, turn the line on, and skip the kiosk. Your physical SIM stays in the other slot for banking SMS and calls from home.

Lightning vs on-chain Bitcoin
Lightning is the default for a Bitcoin eSIM. A travel plan is a small purchase. Paying a multi-dollar on-chain fee on a $5 day pass is a bad trade; a Lightning invoice settles in seconds for a fraction of a cent and provisioning starts immediately.
On-chain BTC still works and is the right call above roughly $40 — a multi-country monthly bundle, or several plans in one cart. One confirmation is enough. Hardware wallets (Coldcard, Trezor, Ledger) send on-chain; Lightning needs a Lightning-capable wallet such as Phoenix, Wallet of Satoshi, Muun or Zeus.
If you hold ETH, USDT, XMR or another of 300+ coins instead, the same checkout quotes those assets. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay run through Stripe if Bitcoin is awkward that day. There is no crypto surcharge — the listed USD price is the price.
Why a no-KYC Bitcoin eSIM matters
