The Short Answer: No — eSIMs Cannot Be Transferred After Activation
Once an eSIM has been activated on a device, it is permanently locked to that device. This is a GSMA industry-wide standard — not a restriction specific to CryptoeSIM. Every eSIM from every provider worldwide operates under this rule. eSIM profiles are cryptographically bound to the device's hardware during activation.
The Exception: eSIM Not Yet Activated
If your eSIM has been purchased but never scanned or activated, you can install it on your new phone instead. Simply follow the installation guide on your new device.
What To Do If Your eSIM Is Already Activated
Option 1: Use Old Phone as Hotspot
Use your old phone as a WiFi hotspot and connect your new phone to it — uses your existing data plan without waste. See our hotspot guide.
Option 2: Purchase a New eSIM
Browse plans for your destination — they activate immediately. If you had significant data remaining, contact support — we may be able to arrange a goodwill credit.
